Constitutional Amendments on October 2 Ballot
ACT 537: Increases length of state legislative sessions and moves the effective date of enacted legislation from August 15 to August 1. - PASSED
ACT 538: Changes the status of the Governor's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness from state civil service to unclassified. - PASSED

Constitutional Amendments on November 2 Ballot
ACT 539: Sets effective date for salary increases for statewide elected officials to term following adoption of increase. - PASSED
ACT 541: Sets amount of severance tax to be remitted to parish of production. - PASSED
ACT 1049: Allows for a doubling of homestead exemption for property owned by veterans with one hundred percent disability. - PASSED
ACT 542: Allows a taxing authority to increase millage rates with certain conditions. - FAILED
ACT 1050: Allows an extension of special property assessment following a disaster under certain conditions. - PASSED
ACT 1048: Provides that only the state legislature can alter the benefits of any state retirement system subject to legislative authority. - PASSED
ACT 540: Increases the authority to sell sufficient property to cover taxes, interest, penalties and costs. - FAILED
ACT 1052: Deletes the requirement that property expropriated for health or safety threats, or disuse must first be offered back to rightful owner. - PASSED
ACT 1051: Requires certain judgments that are rendered in worker's compensation claims be reargued before a panel of five judges under certain conditions. - PASSED
ACT 1053: Sets time limits for defendant to waive his right to a jury trial. - PASSED
