IN 500 WORDS OR LESS PLEASE DISCUSS WHICH RESPONSIBILITY OF THIS OFFICE YOU CONSIDER TO BE THE MOST IMPORTANT AND WHAT YOU PLAN TO DO TO MEET THAT RESPONSIBILITY?

I believe the safety of our citizens is very important. We must continue to fund and strongly support our Police, Fire, and EMS workers in the City of Westwego. Our crime rate is low and fire ratings are excellent, but we must never let our guard down. We must always stay one step ahead and look toward the latest technology and tools to keep up with crime fighting trends. We must provide all the tools necessary for our law officers to continue to more than adequately protect our city. When our citizens have to evacuate, they shouldn't have to worry about their homes. Our EMS workers deserve updated emergency equipment to work with because our citizens come first. This is why I always lead the fight for adequate funding for our Police and Fire Departments. We must be pro-active, not reactive.
