IN 500 WORDS OR LESS PLEASE DISCUSS WHICH RESPONSIBILITY OF THIS OFFICE YOU CONSIDER TO BE THE MOST IMPORTANT AND WHAT YOU PLAN TO DO TO MEET THAT RESPONSIBILITY?

I believe it is a crucial time in our community and we need to make sure that Jefferson Parish continues to be an economic engine for this region and attracts new families and new businesses. I believe public service is both an honor and a responsibility. Public officials need to set the example and conduct themselves in ways that are respectful of the position that they seek and hold. I pledge that I will work hard and I will serve with integrity. The Jefferson Parish Council is directly responsible for the expenditure of millions of dollars of taxpayer money each year. I am a Certified Public Accountant that specializes in fraud prevention and forensic accounting. I have the skills to ensure that our tax dollars are well spent and put to the best possible use. I also had a 10-year career as a federal officer with the Department of Justice and I am a graduate of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center.

As a forensic CPA I have the skills to ensure that our tax dollars are put to the best use. I can read budgets, financial statements and perform economic analysis. Now more than ever, we must ensure that our tax dollars are spent properly; I believe my financial background would be a great addition to the council.

One of the most important issues facing District 5 is flood prevention. Until "Pump to the River" is fully funded by the Federal Government, and the Corps of Engineers undertakes its design, our district will never truly be safe from flooding. I will fight until I'm the last one standing to ensure that this most important project is undertaken. Another issue I put great emphasis on is the revitalization of Fat City. Comprising the real estate at the center of our parish, this tract has the potential for a first class mixed use development, and the capability of being a catalyst for the surrounding areas. Instead, it sits as an eyesore to our great Parish. I was born and raised in District 5. I will fight to see this area returned to the promise that it once afforded the residents and businesses.
