POLITICAL EXPERIENCE AND POLITICAL ORGANIZATION MEMBERSHIPS:

1. Why do you think you are particularly qualified to be a District Court Judge?

I have practiced law in this community for over 17 years in the public and private sectors. I have represented both plaintiffs and defendants alike. I served as judicial law clerk for Justice Bernette Johnson for both the Louisiana Supreme Court and Civil District Court where I was charged with drafting opinions and judgments, respectively. As trial counsel for the Regional Transit Authority and The Hartford, I have handled thousands of cases from inception to conclusion.

In 2004, I was selected by the Louisiana Supreme Court to serve as Judge Pro Tempore in Civil District Court, Div. M. During my five month tenure, I presided over two jury trials, one of which lasted 10 days, several bench trials, numerous motion hearings, status conferences and pre-trial conferences.

2. What personal characteristics and experiences will you draw upon to enable you to make impartial decisions in a Domestic Court?

During the time I served as Judge Pro Tempore in Civil District Court, I earned a reputation as a fair, impartial and hard working judge. My reputation is one of honesty and integrity, which I will carry to the bench if elected.

The next Civil District Court Judge will be assigned the Family Court docket. I will bring to the bench not only my diverse legal experiences, but also the judicial temperament necessary to be a fair and effective judge.

3. Have you ever been subject to a disciplinary ruling by the Office of Disciplinary Counsel or the Louisiana Supreme Court? If yes, explain.

No.
